Forward Tigers

readyThe first fighting stance we teach to the kids is tiger stance.  It’s a forward leaning stance that when done properly… makes you feel like a tiger.  Okay, not really, but it does set you up for moving forward.  By setting you up to go forward, you are ready to go if you see the opportunity to strike.

The progression in class went like this: practice strikes in the air from tiger stance, practice strikes on the pads from tiger stance and then practice sparring with each other with an emphasis on tiger stance.
