We played this game in the adult class last week so I had some time to think about how to make it a little bit better for the kids. After much thought I realized what it was missing was burpees.
The setup for the game is to put the students in a small enough space so that they can easily throw a focus pad back and forth to one another. Then they start doing their forms. The objective is to see if they can keep doing their form if they get interrupted.
If someone holds on to the pad for longer than a count of five, they have to do 5 burpees. If the pad gets dropped, everyone has to do 2 burpees. I think in the future I’ll add the rule that you can’t throw the pad back to whoever threw it to you.
