One Difference

whapWith the theme this week being “one correction”, I figured it might be interesting to ask the students if they can spot one similarity and one difference between techniques.  Today in kid’s class we looked at the ridgehand and the hook punch.

The students noticed that they both approach from the same angle – the side.  They also noticed that the ridgehand has a “flip” at the elbow, while the hook does not “flip” at the elbow.  In addition to all this noticing, of course, the students gave the focus pads a good solid drubbing.
