Squish the Bug!

This week’s game is called “squish the bug”.  The idea is to get on top of your partner and pin them.  The rules are: no striking, no submissions and no standing up (a rule which I forgot to mention to the students before filming the video).  Basically, it’s a position game – who can find and hold a dominant position.

There are many ways to play the game.  In the video above there wasn’t any way to win or lose but it can be played such that if a player holds a dominant position for a count of 3, they win.  For today, I told the students that if they held a dominant position, they should try and switch to a different position and try and hold that.
