Word Association

The game of the week is called the word association game.  At the simplest level, two people face each other and say words back and forth.  Ideally, each word would be a response to the previous word.

For instance, if I said potato, my partner might say tomato – because tomato rhymes with potato.  Or they might say root, because the potato is a root vegetable.  Or they might say eyes, because sometimes potatoes have eyes.  Each word is a response to the last word (except for the first word, which one partner gets to pick).

We played the game a bunch of different ways today but my favorite was the way we played it on the video above – the kids did their form while playing the game with me.  Fun stuff.
