This year, one of my goals as a teacher is to write up 50 games that we play in kids class. Each of the 50 entries on games will be accompanied with a video example and a text description of the game.
So the first game of the year is kick toss. Two students stand across from one another, far enough so that they can just barely touch fingers. One student starts with a focus pad in their hands. From their, the following loop begins:
- The partner with the pad in their hands puts the pad on top of one of their feet.
- The partner with the pad on their foot uses a kick to try and get the pad to their partner.
- If the pad is caught, return to step one.
- If the pad is dropped, both students return to fingertip distance, do 5 high five burpees together and then start the loop over.
The goal of the game is to be the group that gets the furthest away from one another and still gets a successful catch.
