2nd Annual Kid’s Fall Tournament

WAKF students before the tournament.
Great turnout today for the tournament!  We had just over 30 kids and tons of great competition and fun.  There were many medals and many glow sticks awarded…. wait… glow sticks?
That’s right.  Competitors got glow sticks for “doing something extraordinary”.  Not that glow sticks are particularly extraordinary but the idea was to reward students with something tangible who tried things like spinning hook kicks, or participated in a division full of kids twice their size or grappled three straight matches in a row.
The cool part was all the kids who got the glow sticks could tell you exactly why they had gotten them.  It wasn’t a “because I showed up award” it was for throwing combinations in the ring or belting out a particularly amazing ki-ai.
Thanks so much to all the students, families and helpers to participated.
