There’s an Olympic weightlifting certification coming to CrossFit Salem in May. I figure if I’m going to spend a bunch of money and a weekend on training, I should get to work on my form!
That means all the students at CrossFit Hillsdale get to work on their form. Is it fair for me to foist my pursuits upon my students? I think so, especially if I think of it more as sharing and less as foisting. Who couldn’t use a little more Olympic lifting in their lives?
Today: the hang power snatch. It’s a tough but fun one. Unlike a lot of the lifts where you end up with the bar overhead, in the snatch you don’t stop at the chest – you huck the weight all the way up.
For the hang power snatch this means going from mid thigh all the way up to over your head in one graceful movement.
The workout was:
500 meter Row (or 200 jump ropes)
…followed by
3 rounds of
12 Hang Power Snatches
25 Box jumps
50 Sit Ups
