Who wants ice cream?

When is the last time you bought ice cream for 25 cents?

Well, Sunday at Brooklyn park, the citizens of Portland (and anyone else who happened to be walking around that day) had just such an opportunity. AND, as those who showed up discovered, they had the opportunity to watch one of the few remaining summer MDP demos.

In addition to forms and basics, the students got fierce with the punching pads and showed off their knowledge of stick work for the crowd. And if that wasn’t enough, Nate from Capoeria PDX ran an informal class for all the students who showed up. Cartwheels were flying! Handstands were sprouting up everywhere! (And he kicked me in the head – with excellent control, of course)

Demos have been fun this year and we look forward to sharpening both our presentation skills and our scheduling tactics for next fall and summer.
