Mobility

closeitToday’s weapon class was stick versus empty hand.  Riffing off the theme of the week – booksmarts – we talked about what strategies it is important to keep in mind when solving the (difficult) problem of facing a partner armed with a club.

We landed on three important ideas – mobility, bridging the gap and head control.

First, move, because getting hit with a stick stinks.  Second, you get in close because the club is much less effective on the inside.  Third, you get control of your partner’s head to take their balance and get their mind off of hitting you with the club.
