Get Out

One of the drills we did tonight was a 2 on 1 attack.  One student has two attackers coming at them, one of which is grabbing them at close range while the other starts about 6 feet away and comes in once the grab is initiated.  I told the students to let their strikes flow naturally and worry more about their position relative to the second attacker.
Put more simply, I told them to make sure they were fighting one person at a time, if possible.  This strategy begins with the breaking of the grab – the ideal direction of escape should put the defender in a position such that the further attacker needs to get through his own buddy to get to the defender.
The video shows a few clips of the drill.  Watch it and give constructive feedback.  Even though I told the students to worry primarily about positioning, that’s no reason not to check out their striking form, targeting, control, etc.
Read the student’s thoughts here or if you can’t get enough video, go watch this Fight Quest video on Kajukenbo.
