What’s a chipper? It’s a workout that looks like a bulk grocery list. There are a ton of movements and a ton of reps. Like a grocery list, you’ve got to get one item at a time – though if you’re strategic you’ll get all the items from the produce section, then all the items from the dairy section, etc.
Usually there is only one round in a chipper, just as there is only one “round” in a grocery list – you’re usually only shopping for one household.
But suppose you’ve got to get food for three households and remarkably, everybody wants the same amount of the same stuff. On top of that, it’s so much stuff that you have to buy all the stuff for one household at a time, put it in a box and then carry it out to your car. If you buy this scenario then today’s workout is a chipper. If not, then today’s workout is just another RFT (rounds for time) workout. Whichever word you use, it was definitely a higher volume workout.
