Technique First

Just watched a CrossFit Endurance video on the main site.  Nothing shockingly new in it but it contained a great reminder: technique comes first in CrossFit and volume last.
There is an approach to fitness (and life) for some folks that follows a simple line: more is better.  If running on the treadmill for 10 minutes is good then running on the treadmill for 30 minute is better.  What if all this running is being done with horrible form and causing knee damage?  If that’s the case then more is actually worse.  What if the extra volume is reducing the athlete’s capacity to engage in sprint-type activities?  If that’s the case then more is actually worse (in a broad fitness sense).
You get the idea.  More is not always better.  More volume, more weight, more reps = not always good.  Technique comes first.  Technique comes first to insure safety.  Technique comes first to promote efficiency.  Technique comes first to create a foundation.
Buy yourself a 6 foot wooden dowel and practice your technique.
