Part of today’s warm up was doing 10 “partner jump ropes”. This meant you and another athlete shared one rope and tried to figure out how to get yourselves to both jump over the rope in one move. A few folks were crazy enough to try partnerdouble unders (though I won’t mention any names.)
What is the point of this? Are we creating favorable adaptations here? Flexibility? Strength? Endurance? What secret element of fitness is this craziness?
Let’s just call it the 11th element, fun. The CrossFit workouts we do can be grueling, absurd and frustrating so a little lightness can go a long way. Now if we can just combine the grueling and the fun, then we’d be getting somewhere. (What’s that make.. frueling? Grun?)
