The weather has been fickle in these parts lately, but today was downright inspirational…all warm and full of sunshine and light breezes! In keeping with the “weekend off” theme of taking to new challenges, we hiked the eight miles up and back to Council Crest Park, a green space I had not visited before. It turned out to be a surprisingly easy climb to the top, which is thought to be the highest elevation within city limits at 1073 feet above sea level.
Park it!
The vista was amazing, and as I looked across to the mountain, and down upon the Willamette River, I was reminded of another, always have wanted to do adventure. I later hopped on the internet and *just like that* signed up to “Kayak Around Ross Island” via the Portland Parks and Recreation website.
Technology is incredible, but more to the point, Portland Parks are amazing in all their vast splendor and community programming!
