Never From the Floor Anymore

I’ve become obsessed with the high hang. This obsession has led me to the hang. Maybe one day I will be obsessed with lifting all the way from the floor but it might be a long time coming.
The real story is that it makes sense to learn the clean and the snatch in small sections. The high hang is a smaller chunk of movement than the hang or coming from the floor. Because it is a smaller chunk, there are less things to screw up. Thus, it follows that you should get good at the high hang first, then the hang and then moving all the way from the floor.
So I’m hoping the rest of you can tolerate another year or three of my obsession with high hang as I try and move us forward as a gym with our lifting skill set.
