Vertical

The more vertical your torso is at the bottom of the squat, the easier it is to press the bar upwards. Of course. If you are up on your toes at the bottom of the squat, a vertical torso might not save your lift but, all other things being equal, the more vertical the torso is in the bottom, the easier it will be to stand up.

How do you get your torso more vertical? Hold a 10 pound bumper in front of your when you air squat. Get close to a wall and squat without scraping your nose off your face. Hold your arms up and in front of you as you slowly squat down. Rinse, lather, repeat.
