How much structure should be present in our programming? How much variation should be present in our programming?
If our goal is measurable progress then there is room and need for both. At one extreme, if the workouts become too structured and repetitive, our bodies adapt to the stimulus and we stop making progress. At the other extreme, if the workouts become too random, we struggle to build up our strength and technical proficiency.
