June Challenge: Five for Fighting

For the Kung fu challenge this month, the goal is to write about 5 of the 27 fighting principles. You can choose any five you want. You can write as little or as much as you want.

What should you write about? The challenge is to write about how the fighting principles apply to non-martial challenges. For instance: how can you use angle of attack when thinking about how you will get rid of all the blackberries in your back yard?

The question that I hope to answer with this month’s challenge is: does getting students thinking about the fighting principles in different ways help them make connections inside and outside the art?

For a full list of all the fighting principles, go check the adult requirements progression.
