I had a music teacher in middle school who liked to put rhythm into words. Why not, right? He was a music teacher, after all. So when a triplet came up in a piece, he’d say: “trip-ah-let”, in a steady rhythm to help us hear what we were supposed to play.
Now, if I’d been really accurate, I would have called today’s workout “trip-ah-let, trip-a-lt, tip-a-t” or something akin to that because then the sound would reflect the ever increasing speed at which you should be attacking each round. Said numerically, the first round (of 21s) should have taken 1/2 your total time, the second round (of 15s) 1/3 your total time and the last round (of 9s) should have taken 1/6th of your total time.
Should have… you know, in theoretical kind of way.
“Trip-ah-let, Trip-ah-let, Trip-ah-let”
