The phrase “hands up” gets uttered at least 100 times a week at the school but how often do we hear “elbows down”? Well, let it ring loud and clear. Why? Check the photo from sparring class tonight. Hands protect the head, elbows protect the ribs. The less you have to move to cover, the easier it is to fend off strikes.
Blocking is good, but when the punches and kicks are coming in quick succession, a strong cover can be a fighter’s best friend.
