Winding down on an up note

Today marked the final day of our 3rd year at Lewis Elementary. Since teachers are only as good as their last class, we gave the students an opportunity to put on the pads and spar a bit. Hopefully that will bring them back again in the fall.

A few students sprinted through the final weeks of their training to earn their next rank. All told, during the three sessions, we awarded 4 orange purple/sashes and 8 orange sashes. We look forward to next year, not because we hope to award more ranks, but because the students at Lewis want us to be there. What more could we ask for as teachers?
