Who knew the new

We started a new program at Bridlemile Elementary. It’s a once a week elective and our first journey into to deeper Southwest Portland. Some poet suggested to me that my reach should exceed my grasp and well Crossfit keeps chanting ready,fire,aim so well here we go, where we stop – nobody knows.

It’s always fun to start up a new program and see what the students are expecting. I suspect for most students, their expectation lies somewhere between looking like their favorite flying side kick wielding video game character and being given free reign to punch people. Inspiringly, many students stick around even after discovering the hard work involved in becoming a martial artist. What that tells me is that people like work, especially when it has meaning and relevance to their lives.
