Again, again, again and again

The beauty of teaching four classes of different students in a day is that you can teach the same lesson four times. Usually, I feel bad for the first group I taught because by the fourth class, I realize how much my methodology has improved throughout the day.

Such was the case at Winterhaven today, as I ran the students through the same paces Lara and I used on the three classes of SW Charter students. First there was the “voice only” section in which I described verbally what I wanted the students to do. Then there was the “action only” section in which I demonstrated what I wanted them to do. And finally there was the take your pulse before and after working hard.

The lesson here is (once again) that repetition works not just for a student drilling basics but for a teacher learning management skills.
