Get a Rope

Let’s talk ropes.  Jump ropes.  What’s the key to a really great jump rope?  Simple: the one you like is the best rope.  Pretty crazy, huh?
Some people love the leather jump ropes (I swear, they’re out there), some even like the playground style ropes (I’m still waiting for this person to come to the gym, but I’m sure they’ll arrive sometime).  For most of the rest of us, there’s the cable ropes, the licorice ropes and the plastic coated metal ropes.
Not sure which kind you like?  Not sure which kind is which?  Take a few minutes after class and try all the different styles – see which one makes you happiest… and if it really makes you happy, don’t be afraid to buy one for your very own so you can perfect your double unders at home.  You know you want 2 solid minutes of doubles.  It can be yours… if you constantly practice at home for six months.
