Can you smile while holding a handstand? Can you laugh after doing a deadlift? Or perhaps you find CrossFit rather serious and take a stoic approach to your wall sits and squats.
Whatever the case – is it helping? If so, good. If not… not so good. Let’s hope that the argument that attitude can affect athletic performance doesn’t even need to be made – that all of us have both seen and experienced that cliche in action. I think the less obvious piece of the equation is that not only do different attitudes work for different people but also that different attitudes work in different situations. Perhaps squats are serious… and handstands hilarious.
Let the grand attitude experiment begin.
