You can be assured that the elliptical machine has a near zero rate of injury, especially when compared to engaging in movements that require skill and loading (techno speak for weights).
So why learn skills? Why do loaded movements? The rewards outweigh (pun intended) the risks. Learning skills means gaining coordination. Gaining coordination means moving more gracefully outside the gym. Similarly, doing loaded movements means gaining strength. Gaining strength means performing daily physical tasks with greater ease.
Props to everyone who hated burpees a little bit less today.
