Kipping Strength

You kip, I kip, we all kip!  It’s been a trend in our workouts lately – the option to kip in your handstand push ups.  Practice it.  Get it… but don’t get fixated on it.  No doubt someone will stick some no-kip rule into one of June’s workouts!  Jerks!  Who would be so cruel?
Next thing you know they’ll be putting strict pull ups into the mix too!  Be afraid… then read a book.  How about Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe?  It’s a light read about how to squat, dead lift, bench press and power clean.
Why read a book about lifting in response to your fear of strict movements?  Because strength will banish your fear.  (Though you actually have to do the stuff Coach Rippetoe talks about in the book, as just reading it won’t actually make you stronger.)
