Benchmarkian

If the workouts are always random, how can you tell if you’re making any progress?  Answer: benchmarks.  How much was your 3RM deadlift four months ago?  How much is it now?  How long did it take you to row 500 meters a year ago?  How long does it take you now?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions, start updating your benchmark sheets.  Tracking your progress isn’t just to make me happy – it helps you work harder and get results.  Record what you do.  Beat your old score.  Discover your strengths and weaknesses.  Progress.
On another note, we had a good question this morning about why athletes get nausea after a workout.  I found a good article that postulates some reasons and gives some good practical advice on how to work through nausea and look at the bigger picture of getting in better shape.
