Ever wonder if it would be feasible to use every barbell in the gym at one time? Well, it totally is. It does set an implied restriction on how far you can dump your bar in front of you after a hard rep, but a little control is always a good thing.
The WOD was a bit of a slugfest. Anything involving the Bear Complex usually is. But it was interesting to see the strategies people set for getting through the prescribed weight. Throw 70 pounds on the bar and work methodically through 29 reps, or keep the 135 you were using for Jerks and just maul your way through as many as you can? All I can say for certain is that both routes look pretty exhausting.
And in case anyone sees it in the book, but doesn’t know what it is; the Slasher-to-Halo was definitely a crowd favorite.
A Ton of Bears:
In any order, and with any rep scheme, complete:
2,000 lbs of Bear Complex
50 Slasher-to-Halo (50lbs)
50 Plyo Push-ups
To accumulate weight for the Bear Complex, add together each repetition you do of the full complex (eg. 40 reps of 50lbs, 29 reps of 70lbs, 20 reps of 100lbs). Whiteboard here.
And a note on scheduling: These classes are still running a little long. Plan on 60 to 90 minutes.
