This week the 4’s and 5’s were introduced to the concept of “duck,” and “jump,” along with some simple, yet effective covers with single frame and double frame (involves protecting one’s temples with arms covering ears, and elbows forward). Students were reminded to run, step, and jump lightly onto the balls of their feet, with a bend in the knee and gentle landings…all leading up to our culminating game, Noodle Of No Conscience!
Noodle Of No Conscience-A Kung Fu Game!
Traditionally, the game is titled Stick of no Conscience, but with the 4’s and 5’s we use a foam “noodle” as students circle up, and employ said duck, jump and cover skills to avoid getting hit by the kid-seeking staff. If the stick makes light contact with a student they must step out of the circle to complete a short set of jumping jacks before stepping back in. This game is always a hit with children of all ages.
