The Mad Pad

Some days it just feels good to pound away on an air shield. Today the kids at Winterhaven got to do just that!

As a Kindergarten teacher I taught all my kids how to hit [correctly, or without injury to themselves] “the mad pad” that lived in the far corner of our classroom. They were told that this was an appropriate means for blowing off steam, (we had some temper issues the year we instituted this) and were invited to do so whenever they felt the need. It turned out to be an incredibly effective tool.

Young or old, I have found that there’s a particular look of satisfaction that comes across one’s face after they’ve given the pad a good drubbing…
