Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling art. This means students learn how to roll, fall, throw, pin, and submit. If the idea of learning how to use leverage and position to control and subdue a larger, stronger opponent is appealing to you, BJJ may just be the thing.
If you’re thinking *OH NO! I’M NEW. I’M GOING TO GET DESTROYED* Don’t worry. We’re nice. If we were mean to people, nobody would stick around. We will meet you where you are at. Don’t be shy about being new. Tell the coach. Tell your partners. Tell that random person walking by the gym. We will keep you safe and having fun.
