As all my students know, I love martial skills that I can practice throughout the day. If there is something that I can practice while I am both on and off the martial arts floor that is going to make me be a better martial artist, I embrace it whole heartedly.
This week we’ll be working the idea of keeping our focus up and out. This means seeing what is going on in front of us (as opposed to what we want to be happening or what happened last time).
Put more simply, we’ll be working awareness drills. Keep your eyes, ears and minds open. The first step to solving any problem is spotting it before it gets worse.
