Sometimes the workout is hard not simply because of the rep scheme, the weights, the volume, the technique and all that but also because of yesterday’s workout.
The soreness can take a toll. Three days of CrossFit in a row leaves the legs worked. Three days is about the maximum in a row most normal human beings can tolerate. There are those who can and should do more. Are you one of them? Best to build up to 2 and 3 days in a row before you move on to four.
For me personally, there is the limit. I have, many times, tried to do more and it leaves me tired and occasionally injured. Each time I’ve done it, I don’t feel like (on the fourth day) the workout is making me any stronger. It simply feels like I’m surviving. It’s not a bad mode to put yourself in occasionally but as a rule, overtraining isn’t good for you.
Give yourself time to recover. Cuddle up with your foam roller for an hour and relax.
